Review: At Dead Of Night

Hello! Today I will be reviewing at dead of night by Tim Follin, Baggy Cat Limited.

What is it about?

At Dead of Night is a point n click horror game, it is half film, and half rendered game. This game is so well done, I honestly have never played anything like it before, I was surprised and spooked around every corner. The story is you're playing as a woman named Maya, who is going to a music festival with her friends. She goes to this hotel meeting up with her friends who already have paid for her room. She goes up to the counter and meets the owner of the hotel Jimmy.

Jimmy offered her to come see his show at midnight called "the great hugo punch" Maya declines saying that her and her friends should really get going to bed. She soon goes to her room 101 and settles in for the night, in the early morning she was awaken by a sound outside her door and noticed one of her friends were in danger. She watched and soon planned on what she was going to do.

There are ghosts in the hotel "SPOILER" of the people he has killed, you need to figure what Jimmy has done to these people and figure out the secrets of the hotel while avoiding Jimmy. I will not spoil anything else storyline related, but you do get to get in contact with the ghosts and figure out the story.

So while you are running through the hotel, you will encounter Jimmy many times, you must avoid him by hiding in rooms, hiding in the wardrobes, restrooms, or by going away from his talking. He can go into the rooms you are hiding in, and if he knows you're in the restroom, once in a while he will barge in to hit you with his bat, or hide outside the room, I would tell his other tactics, but I would like for you to figure some of them out on your own. ALSO:

HUGE WARNING: THERE ARE SCENES OF SU1C!DE AND GRUESOME DEATHS IN THIS GAME, PLEASE TAKE CAUTION IF THIS IS SOMETHING THAT COULD TRIGGER YOU, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND PLAYING THIS GAME IF THIS IS SOMETHING YOU THINK YOU WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO HANDLE. WARNING THERE IS ALSO JUMP-SCARES IN THIS GAME.

My Rating:

9.3/10 Stars, really good gameplay, but when you would die, it was slightly annoying. Whenever you die, you would lose your items, and have to find some of them, and it would take quite a bit to get back on track again.
